Without even knowing it, many homeowners in Hawaii are attracting cockroaches to their homes and properties. It might just be that the cockroaches have found their way in through the cracks and crevices that are in the walls, windows and doors. It might be the leaky water pipes in the basements, kitchens or bathrooms. Or maybe it’s the crumbs that were left on the floor of their kitchen throughout the day. Cockroaches are driven by the need for shelter, water, and food. Our homes offer that and so much more, why wouldn’t a cockroach want to come in?
There are 19 species of cockroaches in Hawaii. Fortunately, not all of these cockroach species are household pests. What type of cockroaches will you find in your Hawaii home? If you're seeing roaches, there is a good chance it will be an American cockroach, a German cockroach, or a Surinam cockroach. And, if you see one of these roaches, there is a high probability you have hundreds more living in within your walls.
Dealing with cockroaches in Maui is something that is best handled by the professionals because they are unsanitary pests!
We don't have to tell you that Maui is home to many roaches. There are over 19 different species of cockroaches here. That is saying something, considering that cockroaches aren't indigenous to Hawaii. Fortunately, and we say that tongue in cheek, there are only 3 species that are considered pest roaches.
