Tourists flock to Oahu and other parts of Hawaii to see honeycreepers and other native birds. They don’t come to view pigeons but unfortunately these pest birds are here and an ongoing problem. With a preference for urban environments, pigeons in Honolulu and other Hawaiian cities are commonly found in parks, on buildings and bridges, and in grain mills and warehouses. Not only is there an over-population of these pest birds, they’ve become a nuisance pest and a dangerous one. Here are three reasons why homes and businesses don’t want pigeons hanging around.
