Drywood Termite
You Have Unwanted Guests
They hide inside your walls, roof beams, studs and foundation, around door and window frames, even inside your cupboards and wooden furniture. When a colony of drywood termites invades your home, they immediately begin to eat it. Populations reach in the thousands all foraging on your valuable investment. Drywood termites are particularly devastating. Tireless wood eaters, they carve their path of destruction from the inside out and multiple colonies can remain undiscovered for years within a home.

Tent Fumigation
- Fumigation is an exact science - There is more to fumigation than meets the eye. Fumigation" or "tenting" as it is more commonly known must be prepared and executed with skill and precision to get the job done right.
- Proper measurement of the structure - We calculate the exact cubic footage of air space the structure to determine the proper amount of VIKANE fumigation necessary to achieve the desired result.
- Correct sealing of the structure - We ensure that the "tenting" process itself is done correctly to eliminate leaks and possible rears from the winds.
- Dosage calculations must be exact - Our experts determine the exact temperature, wind and the air volume of the structure to determine the dosage.
- Exposure time - We use specially designed computers to calculate fumigant exposure time.
- Clearing the gas from the structure - Once the tarp is removed, our certified professionals use special electronic detectors to determine the amount of fumigant remaining. Once the fumigant has cleared, the structure is ready for re-entry.
HomeGuard treatments comprise several application methods to reach areas of insect activity and eliminate it, wherever it hides. Large areas, such as attics and crawl spaces may be sprayed through custom treating devices. Sandwich Isle Pest Solutions uses a specially designed mist delivery system carrying "BORATES" to treat those areas that are otherwise inaccessible. In this process, the needle mist applicator carries the BORATES to the infested wood. A slow penetrating mist will adhere to your wood. Areas of known activity may be drilled and injected with liquid BORATES. This floods hollowed-out areas, insuring consistent coverage.
The HomeGuard Inspection and Treatment Program is based upon the strategic placement of borates in multiple formulations applied to all structural wood in your home. A variety of custom built application equipment is utilized to apply borate infused liquids, dust, foam, mist and spray into all structural lumber.
Borates penetrate into wood fibers, actually becoming part of the wood itself. If wood destroying organisms attempt to feed from the treated area, the residual material in the wood slowly eliminates them. Learn more here.
Borate is a mineral salt that is less toxic to humans, pets, birds and fish than table salt, yet it is deadly to insect pests. And because it is a mineral salt, it will not break down over time. When it is sprayed onto the wood, it penetrates deep into the wood and remains there for the life of the wood, providing lasting protection.
